Tips for Wedding Bands

Choosing your wedding bands is a special part of the wedding process. Wedding bands are very meaningful and should be chosen carefully.

Both bride and groom should make the wedding bands decision.  The two of you can visit jewelry stores and look at wedding bands together.

Before you go looking for your wedding bands you should discuss the cost.  Settle on a price that you are willing to pay for the wedding bands.

You may be able to find a jewelry store that allows you to design the wedding bands yourselves.  You will also have to decide if you want to have the wedding bands engraved.
Sometimes the bride and groom want to have matching wedding bands.  If the couple has completely different tastes, the wedding bands do not need to match.

Often brides will buy their wedding bands as part of a set that goes with their engagement rings.  When brides do not have engagement rings they may look for wedding bands that have diamonds rather than plain wedding bands.

You should order your wedding bands at least three to six months before the date of the wedding.  When you do this you will have time to have the wedding bands fitted and engraved.

After the wedding there are things you can do to take care of your wedding bands.  After choosing the perfect wedding bands you will want to make sure they are clean and safe.

If you remove your wedding bands when working at the sink do not leave them on the edge of the sink.  Have a special place to put the wedding bands so they do not end up down the drain.

You may want to keep the wedding bands on or in a safe place when you are swimming. Also protect your wedding bands when you are scuba diving, snorkeling or boating.

You may want to remove your wedding bands when you are cleaning with harsh chemicals.  Food, paint and dirt can also be a threat to wedding bands and some of these things will stain the wedding bands.

You should not wear your wedding bands when you are doing laundry or heavy cleaning.  If you are planning to do extensive yard work that requires the use of your hands you may want to remove your wedding bands.

Make sure you have your wedding bands checked at least once a year.  You can have the wedding bands cleaned at this time too.

You will want to take care of your wedding bands and protect them as much as possible.
